1990
The Reverend Dr. Richard Wiggers comes as the organizing pastor
The first worship service at Rodgers Northview Funeral Home
Choir sings for first time at worship service
The first Sunday School classes held; nursery in small kitchen/lunchroom
Begin ministry to Habitat for Humanity
1991
Northminster chartered by Florida Presbytery as their 42nd church
Northminster Service of Dedication at Trinity Presbyterian Church;
the Rev. Dick Wiggers installed as first Pastor
New worship location at the Eastern Gate Memorial Chapel
Partnership with Westgate School
Groundbreaking for the first church building at 1100 East Nine Mile
Road
on Pentecost Sunday
1993
Move into new building; April 25th, 1993 first Sunday in new building
1992
Northminster's first Small Group was formed (and continues to the
present!)
1994
Michael Richardson begins as Director of Music
Group from Northminster goes to Georgia to help in flood clean-up;
they lodge in jail--new, but not yet opened!
1998
The Reverend Dr. James Sawyer becomes Parish Associate
Page Skinner is our first Director of Christian Education/Youth
Minister
We become the first church to participate in American Cancer Society's Relay
for Life in Pensacola
1999
Small group ministry begins; Discovery Groups form
The Reverend Dick Wiggers retires
The Reverend Bert Eyster becomes Interim Pastor
We link with sister church in Africa
2000
The Reverend Dr. Jerry Little becomes Northminster's second Pastor
2001
Michael Woods and John C. Harris respond to God's call to the ministry
The Reverend Jerry Little accepts call to New Church Development
in Naples, Florida
Curt Goldhill becomes Interim Music Director
2002
The Reverend Dr. Carl Geider becomes Visiting Pastor
The Reverend Paul Abell joins us as our Interim Pastor
Rew Randolph becomes our Music Director
2003
Michael Woods begins his studies at Columbia Seminary, Decatur GA
The Reverend Dr. Walk C. Jones becomes Northminster's third Pastor
Rew Randolph becomes Director of Christian Education as well!
Fun & Faith held for first time.
2004
Hurricane Ivan strikes, new ministries begun
Church is opened to work teams
Galilee Village is built in the church for Fun in Faith
2005
Sara Varnado, 1st Summer Intern Pastor
Dianna Bell begins her studies for ministry
2006
Libby Shannon comes as 2nd Intern Pastor
Mike Woods graduates seminary, becomes a pastor in Georgia
Myong Kim becomes candidate for ministry
2007
Fun in Faith teaches the stories of Moses
Quinna Grundhoeffer Architects are hired to make a new master plan
Three octave of Mallmark Bells are purchased
2008
New Master Plan unveiled; discussion continues
